Our new bulletin board

We had the vision for our bulletin board about a year ago. With some adjustments, we finished this weekend. I think it turned out nicely. David built the whole thing, I think he did a great job. Way to go honey!

Which baby of mine is this?

28 years

My brother scanned and e-mailed this picture to me tonight. I think my parents look great. This one was from their engagement pictures. They have now been married for 28 years.

Happy Birthday Aunt Sam!

A little later, Josh decided to sing Happy Birthday all on his own.

Since you are out of town, we decided to send a visual birthday card.

Aunt Sam,
We hope you have a special birthday. We all love you and wish we could be there to celebrate together. The time we have spent together in the last couple months as been a lot of fun. We can't wait to see you again.

Love you!
David, Ashley, Josh, and Parkeroni

Happy Birthday Aunt Diana!

Diana is David's aunt. She has lived in our area for a little over 3 years now. I am so grateful she moved closer to all of us. Our lives have been blessed by her example and her continual support. If I were to choose one person, who is living, that I would most like to be like it would be Diana. Here's a few reasons why... when her husband passed away she decided she wanted to find ways to help others and uplift her own life. She became involved with a few different programs in her community. She also is extremely thoughtful and generous always acknowledging special occasions. She always thinks of my boys and presents them with gifts that remind her of them. She joined two bowling leagues. On top of those few things, she is fun and has a great sense of humor. She tells her honest feelings and always makes you feel comfortable around her. I also appreciate her love for celebrity news and reality shows that I enjoy. We always have something to talk about. She used to save her People magazines for me, which was the best! I know she doesn't like too much attention, but she deserves it. She is a wonderful person who has become a very important part of our lives.

We love you Aunt Diana! Happy Birthday!

Blogger Assistance

Hey fellow bloggers... I can't figure out how to change the background color on my text. When I go into my layout and change what it says my background color is, it does not change. The other problem is that I can not get the pyzam.com ad off my blog. I have e-mailed them and tried various things. Anyone have advice for me? Thanks!

Baby Borrowers

Please tell me you all watched Baby Borrowers on Wednesday night. I think that newlyweds without kids should watch too! I love when the one teen girl says, it can't be that hard. Watch out!

Watching a show?

Nope, Josh wasn't watching a show... he was sleeping. Funny position don't you think?

Time with the girls

I am so grateful for time out with friends. I appreciate the fun we have and the opportunity to share our lives with one another. Thanks girls for a great evening!

Funny things about Parkeroni

Little tidbits about Parker:
1. He just cut his 5th tooth
2. He is interested in yogurt
3. Whenever we go into a public restroom to nurse he lets out a series of grunts to hear his voice echo
4. He is in a phase of putting everything over his head which means many things end up in his shirt collar, such as golf balls
5. He loves his big brother and when he wakes up, looks for him. If they happen to be in my bed, he jumps on Josh to wake him up
6. He is a fast crawler, but he's just as fast at scooting on his bottom
7. He has the best chuckle
8. He has rug burn on his knees and toes from crawling
9. He loves the dishwasher and attempted to climb into yesterday
10. He likes to growl with his dad back and forth (kind of like a lion and his cub)

Chores

Josh has been working on some chores in our home lately. The other day he was very interested in learning how to fold clothes. I am not going to turn down help in that department. He can now fold the wash clothes and hand towels. Then he puts them away. Watch how pleased he is with his new skill.

New Art

We have been looking for art for our kitchen for oh... about a year. Today we found some that we liked at World Market. When we came home we searched art.com and there it was. We have purchased through art.com before and have been happy with the results. Then we can frame it how we'd like.

And the mission Uncle Jord is going too is...

You'll have to watch to find out.

Date Night

It had been 1 year since I have been to the movies. I stopped going a couple months before Parker was born last year. Then, Parker has been such a clingy baby (and still only nursing) that Dave and I have missed going on dates that last longer then an hour and 15 minutes to dinner. So, last night Jeff and Dorene watched the boys for us and we saw Iron Man. We both really enjoyed it. We also got Chipotle and put in my purse. I felt bad when I saw the sign as we were walking in that said no outside food. Until... I went and bought 1 package of M&M's and a Powerade for $7.25. Isn't that crazy! I felt like I did my part by just getting those two items! Thanks Jeff and Dorene for the night out. It felt great!!

Breakfast for dinner

The other night Dave was golfing, so Josh and I were on our own for dinner. I had some leftovers, while he wanted eggs. So, I cooked up some eggs and he had some leftover sausage from breakfast. Then he decided he wanted ranch with his eggs. I am a sauce girl and while many of my selections of sauces puzzle others, I didn't even think to question his. Then we also added ketchup (because that's what we eat on our eggs). So, I left and before I knew it, he had also gotten out the powdered sugar. He dusted his plate nicely. I had to take a picture, he ate all the sausage and some of his eggs. He said, "the eggs weren't that good mom." I wonder why?

Multi-family bowling adventure

We had a fun filled day at the bowling alley. David has been wanting to go, so we called Aunt Teri & Aunt Lori to join us. Then we thought, let's call Grandpa too. Once we got there we ran into Aunt Diana. What a party! We enjoyed our game, some of us were better (David) than others (Aunt Lori), not naming names though. (To cut Aunt Lori some slack, she let Josh help her bowl.) Afterwards we ate at the Coaches restaurant at the bowling alley. Then the aunts stopped by and we visited some more. We had a great time. It is fun to have Aunt Lori around to hang out with us!
(Okay Aunt Lori, you have now officially been "blogged.")

New PJ's

I just love new pj's, especially on my Parkeroni!

Happy Firthday's Day Dadpa!

It was not only Father's day, but also my dad's birthday. We had fun celebrating Dave and my dad all day. We did the usual Father's Day celebrating for Dave breakfast, present, and let him watch the US open. For my dad we had him join us for dinner, birthday pie, and some fun. It was a nice day overall!

Summer breeze makes me feel fine...

The summer breeze is blowing right through Josh's new do! Here's a little before and after. Hey, you have to shave it once to find out if it is your look or not. It is growing on me though.

Modesty anyone

Have you ever tried to find a modest, but cute swimsuit? It is a challenge! Right now instead of making one pieces they make a pretend one called "The monokini." It almost looks modest until you realize it only covers the belly button. This is the most modest one I've seen.

Then there are overly modest, can there be such a thing? Oh yes there can!

So what's a girl to do? I have been everywhere. Sale employee's just day... "Oh, they don't really make one pieces any more." Are you kidding? They have so many cute fabric's in the bikini's, I wish they would pass them along to one pieces. The tankini is another good option if it is long enough, but all of them seen to be low halter styles. The halter always hurts my neck. So, I am down to one website that is affordable (mymodbe.com). I think the light blue one is really cute, but they have a few others I like too. They are all on sale for $48 right night. That is a deal!

Merman?

Josh wanted to bury someone in the sand. Of course Uncle Jord volunteered. Pretty good don't you think?

Family fun...

Our Mills family decided to take a trip to Monterey. We thought it would be fun to take a family vacation before Jordan goes on his mission this year. It has been fun too. Our place has a beautiful view! We have enjoyed great meals, going to the beach, the aquarium, and of course the guys have golfed. Peter joined the men on the course for the first time and... survived! The most fun has been staying up playing games with everyone. Even Jeff got in on the action. The best part is... it's not over yet. We leave tomorrow. Still time for more fun!

It's been one week

My Parkeroni has returned! He has had a rough few months, but with his new found freedom (crawling and getting into everything), he is a happy boy. He will actually nap and sleep in his crib again!! What a blessing. Who knows how long it will last, but it's been a week and I am grateful!

Pizza!

Since I found out I had Celaic, there were certain foods I mourned. The first was pizza and the second was hamburgers. If you know me, you'd think hamburgers would be first. I can still have them, just minus the bun. (Which really a hamburger isn't quite a burger without the bun!) The other day I found this pre-made frozen GF pizza crust. It turned out pretty good, at least I enjoyed it!

Say what?

We went down to Sacramento last night for Janell's birthday party. On our way down we had a delicious dinner from... Taco Bell. I asked Josh if he would like more water. His response was "heck no." David and I looked at each other. We cracked up. I asked Josh where he heard that from, (we usually blame Uncle Jord, but it really isn't always his fault). He said, "Daddy-o says it." We shook our head in agreement, it is true, Dad does say it. What a funny thing to hear randomly from Josh's mouth!

Camp Nauvoo

Our old ward has a camp-out every year. Out of the five years in the ward, we never made it. Something always came up, until this year (when we now belong to a different ward). David had to work on Friday, so me and the boys went anyways. We had a great time. Josh had the beginnings of a cold, so I was pretty nervous on how our night would go. It went well for the most part. It was a bit chilly, so Josh, myself and Parker ended up in one sleeping bag on a twin air mattress. It worked, not the best sleep I ever had, but we all survived. We enjoyed spending time with Grandma Mills and Uncle Jord, along with some old friends. Thanks CP for a fun overnighter!
