This was my fortunate cookie on Friday night. Not that I rely on fortunes, but it did come true. It has been an amazing adventure over the past few months. I have learned a lot from being involved in this grassroots effort. I am so grateful that Prop. 8 passed. It really did take all of our efforts, it was so close. Thankfully at the end, we prevailed.

Parker was our Headquarter's baby. He was great and enjoyed sitting at the conference table, along with playing with all the blinds.

We had a early start at HQ's around 8: 30 am. Josh was a trooper, this was his office. He enjoyed watching and playing Ninja Turtles. He headed off to preschool for a few hours and came back around 3 pm.

He was so tired, he curled up on the floor and took a nap. He slept while a group of our ward members made phone calls. At about 5 pm when it started to get intense, he had a little melt down. His blueberry muffin was smashed on one side and that ended his world. Since I was the sole person in charge for my ward, I made an emergency phone call to Grandpa S, who rescued them (or I should say rescued me). What a blessing. So Gramma and Grandpa had them the rest of the evening. I can't thank them enough for the extra hand.
We were poll watching and phone calling the rest of the evening. We had so many volunteers I had to send some home. I have so much gratitude for all those who spent time canvasing, phone calling, waving signs, registering voters, door hangers, poll watching, visiting undecided voters, and more phone calling. Can you believe all of that takes place to get voters to the polls? It is so interesting, but it works.
I just want to thank my family for all their help and support over the last few months. They have all been helping in this effort on their levels, but on top of that helped me with my children.
Most importantly I want to thank my husband. He has worked with me throughout this process and been a wonderful help. He has been patient and understanding. When there hasn't been a cooked meal or old laundry in the washer for a few days, he just took care of it. Not to mention getting up at 6 am to put signs up throughout our community. (Thank you honey!)
We are both so grateful for the opportunity we had to support something that we find so important. Josh doesn't fully understand what we were doing, but he knows it was something important. He would say, "hey mom look there's your sign." I am grateful we had this chance to show our children how to stand for what we know is right and follow our prophet.
