I love my boys

They all crack me up, including my husband. Josh though, he's been the winner this week. Here are a few of my favorites.

Thought's about staph infections:
Josh said, "You know what staph infection reminds me of? Donatello's staff and a staff meeting."

Dave thought it would be a good before and after on Wheel of Fortune.

Thoughts on safety:
Josh: Mom, did you know it is dangerous to text and drive at the same time? I saw a commercial where a woman was texting while she was driving. Her and her daughter got really hurt.

Me: Do you even know what texting is?

Josh: Yea, it's when you send a text on your phone to someone. You know like a text.

Me: Yea, you know what it is.


Thoughts on things that smell...

Josh from inside his bedroom with a closed door yells:
Hey Mom! Don't come in here. I tooted and it smells really gross.

(Thank you for being so thoughtful. One day, I know it will change.)

Josh awarded me best mom ever today because I bought him play dough. It is one of my least favorite items because they end up getting it in the carpet, mixing the colors and they complain that it is all mixed. I decided to break out of the mold and buy some new dough because they have played so nicely with it at the Rices. So, they earned 8 new regular tubs of it. We'll see how long it lasts. Buying play dough is a a selfless act in my book.

Now Parker... he likes to sing. So he sings
Yo Yo Yo Yo Pirate Life me

He also likes to tell Josh's bad jokes (that aren't funny)
Josh's joke is the knock knock where he says banana until finally he says, "Orange" "Orange who?" "Orange you glad I didn't say banana"

Parker's version is:
Knock Knock
Whose there?
Grape
Grape who?
Knock Knock
Whose there?
Banana
Banana who?
and it goes on and on with different fruits. No end.

He thinks he's got it down though

Parker also goes through probably 5 pairs of underwear a day (which some are also his brothers) because he likes all the different characters. He's favorite right now Spiderman which he runs around the house singing "piderman piderman"

He wore his spooky Batman mask to Joann's and Target today. People got a kick out of it.

My husband has been working so much this last week that, I don't have any additional funny comments to share from him. He makes me laugh though whenever we're together.

Nothing says Happy Valentine's Day like a mustache

Josh has a thing for mustaches. Whenever we go to Winco he likes to use his quarters to purchase these little pieces of facial hair that only stick for about 5 wearings. So, this year as we talked about what to get his friends for Valentines, it quickly became apparent it was a no brainer, mustaches. Of course girls can't have mustaches (or at least they shouldn't) so he decided on rings for the girls.

We had to prepare for Valentine's day in advance because I knew we'd have to make sure we got enough mustaches for all 8 boys in his class. We went to Party America thinking for sure we'd find a sheet of mustaches, but to our disappointment they only had Tom Selleck style for $3.95 a piece. No go. After looking online a bit I just decided we'd have to hit up the Winco toy machine. So, with $4 in quarters we retrieved 8 mustaches or... soul patches. Yep, there was a variety in their machines. A few days later Josh and I went out to gather the last of his supplies for his Valentines. Dave had already helped him pick out cards a couples weeks ago. So, then the assembly began.



The best part of assembling his Valentines was that he hand picked which boy would get each mustache/ soul patch. I laughed thinking about the boys wearing them. I really wish I could have gotten a picture of each one in their stache.

So, when it was all said and done, his Valentine's poppers were complete. I snapped a quick picture of one on our way to school.

Looking for a Superhero?

Parker is into Superheros. His favorite is Superman, but he'll go for Batman, Wonder Woman, even John Stewart (whoever he is). Josh plays along like the good big brother he is. Parker will even refer to himself as "Super Parker, da da daada!" He considers anything that goes around his neck, a cape: dish towels, scarfs, string, bubble wrap, a shirt, etc... He even has superhero underwear. We're an all boy household Ninja Turtles and Superheros!

Grandpa and Grandma at Preschool

Josh was the star student last week at preschool. As the star student you get to bring in anyone or anything you'd like to share with the class. Josh decided he wanted to bring his Grandpa and Grandma Mills. The star student also gets to bring in their favorite book. Josh brought his scrapbook from Tahoe that Grandma made him for Christmas. He enjoyed sharing his trip and his Grandparents with is friends.

Last Valentine's Day craft

We have a cute scrapbook store called Green Tangerine down the road from me. Since I saw a paper topiary they made for a baby shower, I've wanted to make one. I had left over paper from the Valentine's blocks. Same idea as the paper wreath, but on a ball. They did use press pins instead of hot glue. I think if I make another, I'd use hot glue. The pins allowed me to test out the placement of each paper without it being permanent. It doesn't seem as sturdy. I think it turned out nice though.
