Welcome Home Chad!!

We were so excited to greet my brother Chad at the airport yesterday. He has been serving a mission for the last two years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

These are two of Chad's friends, Tyson and Amy. They joined us for lunch after wards. Jeff and Dorene also met us at the airport to see Chad.

This was Parker's first time meeting his uncle. You can tell he felt comfortable with Chad right away.

We are so glad to have Chad home. We only have two months to enjoy having him around before he heads back to school. Welcome home Chad!!

Father's Day 2009

We had a wonderful father's day weekend. It started off with the Mills coming up for dinner on Saturday evening. Jeff, Dorene, Peter, Janell, Aunt Diana, and our crew went to Lincoln Chinese for some delicious dinner.

Then on Sunday we made David a Father's Day breakfast before church. Later we celebrated with gifts, a BBQ dinner with my parents, and of course some dessert! It was a nice day.

Here are some of my recent favorites of Dave with the boys. I am so thankful for the father and husband he is. He is so good with our boys. I love when they all wrestle together. I appreciate how hard Dave works for our family and is always so willing to help at home.

We are very thankful for Grandpas. My boys love getting a chance to hang out with Grandpa Mills. Josh said his favorite things to do with him are, "play basketball, look at his garden, and play with the remote control car." It is always so apparent how much Jeff loves our boys. He goes straight for them whenever we see him.

Grandpa Surganovich caterers to my boys every need. Whenever we go over he has stocked a variety of snacks and beverages for their pleasure. He is great about taking them to the park and watching them whenever I need a sitter. The boys couldn't be more fortunate to have two wonderful grandpas neat them.

McGuire Wedding

I had the pleasure of coordinating an open house for Mike & Sharon McGuire. Their son Kevin was married in May to Michelle. They had a lovely out door open house at the home of Ron & BJ Smith. There were additional centerpieces, sign in table, and gift area that I did not get pictures of, but here are a few shots.

The flower arrangements were all done by Ruth Mannion (ruthmannionflowers.blogspot.com) and the table runners were sewn by her also.

These were our servers and parking attendants for the night. They walked around carrying "slushy" style drinks. They were a hit and really fantastic helpers. Also my assistant, Ashley (easy for everyone to remember) was amazing. I couldn't have asked for better help!

Independent

We're used to hearing the phrase "Parker's in the fridge!" from Josh, but this time when he said it, he really was "in the fridge." I better use my friend Ruth's approach and tie my chairs to the table!

Family Wedding in Bodega Bay

David's cousin Ashley, was married on Saturday to her fiance Dan. It was a beautiful wedding. What impressed me most about the whole event, that you can see how much Dan and Ashley love each other. Dan instantly teared up as he saw Ashley come up the walk. They seem to really appreciate one another. We are so happy for them. Here are some photos from their wedding.

Some family fun

Well, our goal this summer is to camp, camp, and camp some more. So we took our first opportunity of the season to camp in Bodega Bay at Doran Beach. The day we left it was 100 degrees, but by the time we got to our spot it was in the low 60's, a bit damp and cool. It's amazing the different climates in our state! The next day our friends, The Mannion's joined us. Then as a bonus, we made friends with some fellow campers who get this, live down the street from us in Rocklin and attend a ward in our building. What are the chances.

While we were on our camp-out there was an RV that had two skull and cross bones flags. I had convinced Josh that they were pirates. So the next morning when I walked passed the gentleman staying there I told him Josh thought he was a pirate. The man was real friendly and wanted me to pass along the fact that they were friendly pirates. Later in the day we walked by and the man saw us and came out of his trailer saying "Ahoy Maties." He continued in pirate banter and man did it make Josh's trip. Josh wanted to know about Captain Hook and the pirate answered his questions. I think we started something for that couple because they told me they were going to start to carry gold coins. Pretty funny.

Parker: Now open wide, it's really delicious.

Addie: Wait let me lick the frosting off my lips first... oh yeah that was delicious!

Dave found a starfish and Chloe just picked it right up. Pretty cool!

We saw crabs, starfish, and many other sea creatures. They were fun to look at.
