Awwwh!

So, I used a new background from Lee Lou. I liked it for Valentine's, but every time I try to change it, it still leaves part of my background up. I will probably e-mail Janell Evans, but does anyone else have some helpful hints.

Thanks!

Dr's Appt.

I went to the Cardiologist and they did an Echo Cardiogram on my heart. They won't have any results for me until my follow up appointment on March 3.

My heart deal

So, here is what is going on. About two weeks ago on our way back from Utah my heart started to feel like it was beating extra. My chest would get heavy, my neck would feel tight, and I would get a little light headed. This lasted over a 48 hour period before I decided to call the advice nurse. They recommended I go to the Emergency Room. So, we did. They did an EKG, did a blood panel, and had me hooked up to a monitor. The results showed that my heart was beating extra. In 10 seconds I had 3 extra heartbeats. It was a bit uncomfortable and tiring, but not terrible (I mean, I've given birth so when they asked my pain tolerance, I didn't know what to compare it to). My blood work all came back fine. They send me home with a referral to a Cardiologist.

By the following Monday (they started on a Tuesday), I was still continuing to experience extra beats. They were still as often, but not as many. The Cardiologist took a listen, he heard the same thing. He said that with my young age, no history of heart problems, and good living habits, it might be one of those crazy things that just comes and goes. He explained that for some reason my electrical impulses are misfiring. I have a regular heartbeat and then, from an upper ventricle I get an additional beat. Since it is not the normal location of my heartbeat, it creates kind of a thump in my chest. To make sure all is well, he has me wearing a Holter monitor for 24 hours. It records any "events" to see what my heart has really been up to. Then today I have an Echo cardiogram. I feel confident that it is going to go away. It is just a strange thing. What's new huh, I've been pretty good this last year about getting strange things. So, thanks for the concern everyone! I'll share my results.

Rough around the edges

It is such an interesting time in our world right now. Especially in our country. It seems like everyone we know and care about is struggling with something. The obvious for some is finance, but for others it's just life stuff. It is a bummer. (Myself included, I have been having some heart problems and I haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet). Sometimes it is easy for me to look for the silver lining, but lately I am just hanging on until it passes for everyone. So, last night instead of trying to have a pity party after Parker threw up, I tried to think of any random things I appreciate (when lately, I have been having a few internal pity parties). Here are some that just make me feel good.

I appreciate...

- That my dad gave us a 2 lbs. box of See's. Since Dave is trying to limit his consumption, it means... I get to stash it and eat it for a while.

- I didn't have to make dinner the last three nights

- Even though Parker got sick, it all landed in his blanket and he was in good spirits. (I really do appreciate that)

- HGTV

- Clean carpets! (We just had them cleaned on Friday, thank goodness, unless there is a flu epidemic on its way)

- Grunts, even if Parker doesn't talk yet, he clearly expresses his needs in grunts. (Maybe not my favorite, but I appreciate that he can communicate in some way.)
- A husband that does almost all the laundry

- Whenever my kids see me, even if I just went to get something out of the car, they are so happy to see me.

- Josh. He is in this magical stage that I wish I could freeze him at. He is so loving and kind, to everyone of us especially Parker. He thanks me for making him "delicious" dinners, he fills me with compliments, and love all day. He is high on my list right now.

- To go with that though, I really appreciate that he can get himself in and out of the car without help. He can buckle and unbuckle himself, plus unbuckle Parker for me. It is a big time saver.

- I am going to wear pj's all day today, even though I did take a shower (Since Parker is sick and we can't go to church.)

- My friend Kim is a night owl and when Dave is working I like that I can call her and chat.

- My Mom and Mother in-law understand that being a mom is hard, especially when you don't feel well

- That Dave made the kids give me a break yesterday so I could relax and take a nap!

A "rock'n" birthday party

Janell made the most amazing drum set birthday cake for Peter. The whole theme of the night was drums.

He got new drum covers, drum sticks, and an addition to his set. It was a lot of fun, plus to top it off... we played Rockband.

Way to go Janell on a cake that tasted just as fantastic as it looked!

Wonderfully Creative

What a creative idea, watch for yourself.

Seriously another bump!

It was like slow motion. Parker was eating an apple and just stumbled head first into the corner of our ottoman. You can't see it all that well, but it's there right between the eyes. Poor boy!

He's not crying from the fall. He had recovered, he's crying because he really really wants to hold the new camera and take some pictures.

So, I let him take just a couple. Not too bad

You don't even notice my new braces on the bottom! (You do notice the end of the night shine though!) I'm rock'n it old school with some brackets across the bottom. No colored bands though, at least not this month.
